He was a Former Dean and HOD -Surgery – Govt Rajaji General Hospital and Medical College, Madurai (RETD). He did Fellowship in Minimal access surgery, Endocrine Surgery and Gastroenterology surgery. He has taken an active role in the Association of Surgeons of India at the state and national levels. He is a role model for younger surgeons. The main fields of his interest are Laparoscopic surgery and Endocrine surgery
